This week I sent an
e-mail to the band with 10 questions attached to it. The guys were very
kind and have responded, answering my questions as shown below. The guys
responded to it fairly quickly so I'd just like to say a big thank you
to them all for being such good sports! I am however was baffled at
their grammar, but Matt explained what happened and I fixed it all.
Hey Andrew, cheers
for sending your questions... and now here's the answers...
1. How do you
expect the crowds to react to The Blueprint, compared to your
other/previous bands?
The crowd response
so far has been good. Obviously not as many people know us as know our
other bands, and we're playing smaller gigs, so it's hard to compare,
but there does seem to be a lot of energy at our shows.
2. How did the
recording of the record compare to any of your previous records?
The recording was
very hectic, we did the whole record in 5 days, so there were a lot of
late nights, but the results are pretty good.
3. Who/What would
you say were the main influences in the writing of this record?
Way to many to name
here, but Refused, Helmet, Quicksand and Fugazi would definitely be in
there.
4. For Karl and
Matt. What are you doing apart from The Blueprint?
Our day jobs
5. For Chris, Will
and Mark. Is it hard to balance The Blueprint between Pitchshifter/Consumed?
Not really. It
seemed like it might be at first, but as soon as we learn to stay on top
of things and be sure to communicate with each other, it stopped being a
problem.
6. What do your
other/previous band mates think of the record?
Everyone seems to
like it. Jim and Jason from Pitchshifter are really into it.
7. Your are
supposedly working on new material for your forth coming tour, will this
material become part of zero*zero*two?
We have four new
songs that are almost finished and will more than likely turn up on the
next record. We don't know if will be called "zero*zero*two" yet, but
it's a possibility.
8. Are there any
plans for after the tour?
We're doing live
show up until Christmas, then we're going back in the studio in January.
9. What are your
personal views on the current trend of Garage Rock'N'Roll bands?
Garage punk is
generally cool, although like any scene there's some good and bad bands,
but garage has always been pretty cool and will remain to be after the
media attention has died away. There's definitely a garage influence in
some of our stuff.
10. Do you
recommend any good new bands, apart from yourselves?
