The Blueprint all started, as with all things, as an idea, while Pitchshifter and Consumed  were more than likely getting drunk in a car park out in the land of the Rednecks and the all night dentist, Yankie Doodle Deedle Dandy Land [some of you may like to call it America, or the good old U.S. of A, still whatever it's called  I'd never go there, full of Yanks you know!] in the summer of 2000 and turned that drunken idea into a band 15 odd months later when Karl was added to the ranks on vocals and electronics and Matt left Pitchshifter to concentrate on this band. they must be pretty lazy, takes them a year to do something about it. Since the guys were spread over many different bands it has been hard for them to record, but they managed to find time during September 2002 to record their debut EP, titled "zero*zero*one", which was released by Copro Records on 21st October. They toured mainland UK for a month or so and then headed home, with a few more fans joining their legions, to work on other songs and with their other outfits. In January 2003 Pitchshifter broke the news of their indefinite hiatus which means that Mark may have more time to devote to The Blueprint, as they as due to record their second EP in April with Andy Sneap.
